Dr. Gene Baxter P.E. Hannon Biomechanics Analysis Affiliate

Dr. Baxter is a Forensic Consulting Engineer with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, 18 years of forensic investigation experience, and 30 years of engineering and management experience in the design, analysis and testing of manufactured products. His Ph.D. was related to structural vibrations and his MS degree to fluid and gas dynamics.

As a graduate student at Syracuse University, he taught statics and dynamics to sophomore and junior level engineering students and worked in the shock tube and applied mechanics labs. His industrial experience with Galson Consulting Engineers, General Electric Co., Schlumberger Technology Corp., Baker International Co., McDonald Douglas Helicopter Co., and Exodyne Electric Motors has covered numerous product lines from HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air conditioning) systems; to refrigeration systems; to electronic packaging and control systems for consumer applications and military specifications; to wellhead pressure control equipment; to downhole logging and measurement equipment for severe shock, vibration, pressure and thermal environments; to crew-station hardware design with efficient human interface and display technology; to electric motors for turbine pump applications.

His forensic experience has covered numerous product liability, personal injury, and wrongful death cases for both plaintiff and defense. Cases have included everything from collapse, fracture, rupture, tip-over, instability, control and failure of various machinery and products, to the design and operation of various tools, cranes, lifts, hoists, work platforms, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, tubes and pipes, pumps, HVAC and refrigeration systems, autoclaves and chemiclaves, conveyors, structures, scaffolding, chillers, boilers, ladders, slip & fall, stairs and ramps, vending machines, and other consumer and industrial products.

Dr. Baxter is a member, life member or semi-retired member of several professional societies, is a registered professional engineer in Arizona, and is registered with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). As a member of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers, he is a Board Certified Diplomate of the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards. Dr. Baxter is also listed in several Marquis’ books, including Who’s Who in the World, America, Science and Engineering, Finance and Industry, and others.
